Ali was discovered while playing poker on a cruise, when he happened to sit next to poker television producer Mori Eskandani. Eskandani was a professional poker player at the time, and the two struck up a conversation about the explosion in televised poker. Ali told Eskandani about his broadcasting career and poker experience - prior to making a living as a poker player, Ali had hosted shows for a NBC affiliate in the San Francisco Bay area. Though Ali was making a name for himself as a high-stakes poker player, the idea of returning to TV was always in the back of his mind.

After watching his reel, Eskandani immediately hired Ali to be the Master of Ceremonies for Poker Superstars II. The following year, Ali was cast in the same role for NBC’s coverage of the inaugural National Heads-Up Poker Championship.

Ali’s affable style and knowledge of the game quickly caught the attention of other producers. He continues to host and provide expert commentary in a variety of formats, often teaming up with Team Full Tilt’s Phil Gordon on ESPN's Pro-AM Poker Equalizer.

Ali continues to demonstrate his poker skills, as evidenced by his impressive top-50 finish in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold 'em Event at the 2005 WSOP, Full Tilt Poker Pro Tips and Full Tilt Poker Academy videos.

When he’s not providing expert commentary on some of the world’s most exciting poker games, you can find Ali Nejad playing mixed games online at Full Tilt Poker. Feel free to ask Ali a question and see what he has to say about your game.
