Born and raised in Queens, New York, Artie Cobb started playing poker in the early 1970’s after being invited to a Seven-Card Stud home game. He moved to Vegas in 1976 to play poker full time and after six years of honing his skills, Artie’s drive and determination paid off. He became a regular at the high-stakes tables and then ventured onto the tournament circuit, achieving many notable successes over the last two decades.
All told, Artie has won four WSOP bracelets and banked over $1.3 million in career tournament earnings. He won his first bracelet in 1983 in the $1K Limit Seven- Card Stud Hi/Lo event and walked away with $52K. His second WSOP bracelet came in 1987 in the $5K Seven-Card Stud event which awarded over $142K. After winning the $1K Seven-Card Stud event at Amarillo Slim's Superbowl of Poker in 1990, Artie secured his third bracelet at the 1991 WSOP $1.5K Seven-Card Stud event. In 1998, Artie won his fourth bracelet in the $2.5K Seven-Card Stud event for over $150K.
When he’s not playing poker or following his favorite sports, Artie devotes his time to his seven year old grandson.
