Born and raised in France, Cyril was in school learning to become an engineer when he discovered poker at a home game with friends. Intrigued by the excitement of the game, he made a small deposit online and hasn’t looked back since.
Starting off with small stakes tournaments, Cyril began building his bankroll. He soon made the switch to playing ring games, specializing in short-handed and heads-up No-Limit Hold ‘em. Known as “DonLimit” at the virtual felt, he quickly made his way up the ranks to become one of France’s most successful online players, netting over $1 million in winnings in his first years of play.
While mainly a ring game player, Cyril has also performed well on the live tournament scene. His first victory came at the 2010 Evian Poker Open Main Event for more than $90K. Later in the year, Cyril made his biggest score to date, winning over $260K for a final table finish at the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event. All told, he has more than $380K in career tournament earnings, despite concentrating mainly on ring game play.
Away from the tables, Cyril is an instructor for Team Limpers, a group of French pros who offer their expertise to learning players. He cites ring-game experts and Team Full Tilt members Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius and Tom “durrrr” Dwan as some of the players who have influenced his game.
Currently residing in London, Cyril is an ardent Manchester United supporter, going to as many games as possible. He also enjoys going to the gym and spending quality time with family and friends.
