David Pham

David came to America from Vietnam when he was 17 and got a job working for his uncle. Like a lot of people, he started playing poker and learning the finer points of the game with his family. Unlike a lot of people, his uncle and teacher, Men Nguyen, happened to be a WSOP bracelet winner. From that point on, it was only a matter of time until David found his own fortune and glory in poker.

Throughout the ‘90s, David established himself - and his bankroll - as he steadily racked up final table appearances. At his first WSOP in 2000, David made two final tables and pocketed more than $65K in winnings. Due to his great overall success that year, CardPlayer named him "Player of the Year" for 2000.

During the 2001 WSOP, David joined the ranks of the poker elite when he won his first bracelet in the $2K SHOE event. He won his second bracelet at the 2006 WSOP, taking down the $2K No-Limit Hold ‘em Shootout. All told, David’s had great success in the major tournaments, cashing in multiple WSOP events throughout the years and making five final tables at the WPT as well as winning the L.A. Poker Classic and the Five Diamond Poker Classic in Vegas.

Yet again in 2007, David proved that he was at the top of the game. He made an amazing 11 final tables for the year, including one WSOP and two WPT events, and won more than $1.8 million. As a result of his continued winning performance, David was named CardPlayer’s 2007 "Player of the Year". In earning his second "Player of the Year" award, he joins the ranks of an elite fraternity of multiple-title winners.

With such a stellar record of success, David’s game clearly speaks for itself. He’s one of the best and most active players on the tournament circuit today. When he’s not sitting at a final table in a live tournament, you can find David playing online at Full Tilt Poker and watch the Dragon in action.
