Being competitive comes naturally to David. A native of Paris, France, he was one of the top-ranked French tennis players until severe back pain forced him to cut his career short. Eager to channel his ambitious nature into less physical sports, David began playing billiards, soon becoming one of the top 10 players in France.
Despite his success at the pool table, David gambled that he could achieve even greater heights at the poker table. So, with several successful sessions in Parisian casinos under his belt, David decided to hang up his pool cue and become a professional poker player.
David is now known as one of the best high-stakes cash game players in the world and is a regular in the “Big Game”, which is legendary for having some of the highest stakes in the world.
David is no slouch at tournament play either - he's had final-table finishes and wins in tournaments held all over the world. In 2003, he won the Grand Prix de Paris, taking home nearly $411,000 and besting a final table that included Erick Lindgren and Daniel Negreanu. In the 2004 L.A. Poker Classic, David finished sixth, earning $132,000. His string of impressive finishes continued in 2005, when he won the World Poker Tour Battle of Champions and finished fourth in the FullTiltPoker.net Global Poker Challenge.
In 2007, David final tabled the $2,500 Omaha/Seven-Card Stud Hi/Lo 8 or Better event, taking home more than $29,000 for sixth place. In 2008, he found his way to three more final tables, finishing seventh in the $5K No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball event, third in the $5K Pot-Limit Omaha event, and first in the $10K World Championship Omaha Hi/Lo Split 8 or better tournament, claiming his first career bracelet.
When he's not playing tournaments or the world's highest-stakes cash games, you can find David spending time with his fiancé and fellow Full Tilt Poker pro, Erica Schoenberg or playing online at Full Tilt Poker.
