Team Full Tilt’s latest addition, Tom "durrrr" Dwan, issued an unprecedented challenge to the poker world in January 2009. He offered to put up $1.5 million to any opponent's $500K, playing heads-up at four tables simultaneously for 50,000 hands.

Once the last hand has been played, the player who is up - even by just one dollar - wins the Challenge. In short, if "durrrr" wins, he keeps any money he won during Challenge play and the challenger's $500,000. If one of his opponents wins, they keep their winnings and the $1.5 million that "durrrr" has put up.

Tom Dwan Challenge Accepted

With Dwan laying three-to-one odds for the "durrrr" Challenge, it's no surprise that some of the world's best poker players have already taken him up on his offer. Team Full Tilt's Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius, will be amongst the first players to take on the young Internet pro.

The players who have accepted the "durrrr" Challenge must abide by the following conditions:

  • The game type must be No-Limit Hold ‘em or Pot-Limit Omaha
  • The stakes must be a minimum of $200/$400
  • Once the stakes have been decided upon, they must stay the same for the entire challenge
  • Players must reload if their stack falls below 75 big blinds at any time

First Up: durrrr Versus Antonius

Antonius will be the first to go heads-up with "durrrr", following their high-stakes battle at the 2009 Aussie Millions Cash Game, where Antonius emerged as the victor.

These two high-stakes experts will now shift their focus to the digital felt, and you can watch the Challenge unfold live on Full Tilt Poker. There are four special "durrrr" Challenge tables set up in the Omaha Hi game lobby - keep an eye out for any play on these tables, as this is expected to be some of the most explosive high-stakes action to ever take place.

Round Two: durrrr Versus Jungleman12

In August, 2010, Daniel “Jungleman12” Cates became the second player to accept the durrrr Challenge. Having regularly battled it out on the high-stakes digital felt at Full Tilt Poker, the pair will now face each other heads up across 50,000 hands.

While the focus of durrrr’s first Challenge was Pot-Limit Omaha, his contest with Jungleman12 will take place on the No-Limit Hold ‘em tables.

The match promises to be a railbird’s dream, and you can follow all the action live. Watch the drama unfold on the special durrrr Challenge tables, which are located under Ivey’s Room in the Hold ‘em Ring Game section of the game lobby.
