Nick Schulman is one of poker’s most impressive "young guns", rapidly developing his skill playing online. Within a year of picking up the game, he had taken up poker professionally and was consistently posting winning results. Not long after, Nick won a seat playing online for a WPT event that would mark his foray into live tournament play.
Nick arrived at Foxwoods for the WPT 2005 World Poker Finals, facing more than 780 players for his first live tournament. This was not just a debut – it was a command performance. Less than three months after he turned 21, Nick took down the $10K No-Limit Hold ‘em event. He was the youngest player to win a WPT event and a record $2.1 million. Not too bad for a first tournament.
Since that time, Nick’s cashed in multiple tournaments, including four WSOP events. Most recently, Nick took second place at the WPT $10K No-Limit Hold ‘em at Foxwoods in November 2007. He worked his way through a field of 575 competitors and walked away with over $860K for his efforts.
At 23 years old, Nick’s already established a professional record that many players twice his age still only aspire to. Given his performances to date, it appears that this record is only going to improve. Look for Nick playing online at Full Tilt Poker.
