ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: ll thats about all I play most of the time in most tourneys ... apart from a bit of imagination around the blinds :) ... all I can really suggest is patience... you cant keep losing AK v A9 its just not mathematically possibly ... but again it depends

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: on how deep you are and how you play post flop ... but your starting hand selection is a very good start

  • QUESTION FROM Izaak247: I watched a daniel negreanu video and he said to raise on the button - when stealing, with suited connecters and a decent king at worst. - does this mean you should never in theory raise with raggs on the button? what do u think?

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: I think it obviously depends on the likelyhood of a) being called and b) being re-raised ... You need to watch your opponents in the blinds and see how they play ... the tighter they are, the wider the range of raising hands

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: obviously if they are pasing 50% of the time, then almost any two cards will do .. adjust to the players weakness/strength ... if they re-raise all the time to protect their blinds then wait for the big hand and catch them

  • QUESTION FROM eatyourgreen: ok thanks man. think your right about my post flop play..lately haven't been coming out to strong do to the fact i just cant hit a hand and dont want comit to much when i havent hit anything in the flop

    ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: ??? Colclough: babelfish aha swe444… ??????? ??? ?? ?????????? ?????? 5 ???????? ???????? ????????? ?????? … ? ?????? ?? ??? ??????? ?????? ??? ?????? ?????? ?????? ??? ??????? ?????????? ??? ????? ??????? 5 ???????? ????????… ? ?????? ???? ??????????? ?

  • QUESTION FROM eatyourgreen: ya i would like to see some 5 card freerolls..i belive fulltilt tryed out out a few months ago but not many people joined

  • QUESTION FROM Moesie-What: If i play stud H/L does it mean at LO when i have A 2345 thats the best <

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: hats a good question. In England when we used to play live, A2345 did not qualify as a low hand because it is a straight, so the best hand was A2346. However in the US A2345 does qualify as 'a wheel' nut low, So yes A2345 is the best low.

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: Or am I just thinking about Omaha? I never play stud Hi Lo , so I guess I may be wrong .. doh

  • QUESTION FROM Super_Stunner: I have a qeustion I had a game where I raised JJ from the cut off and only the button calls. On the flop comes an ace and I check and he shoves all in both have a big stack what is the best thing to do there?

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: Again you need to have watched the player previously. If there is any evidence that he likes to blufff in this manner when he has missed a flop, then it may be a call. However, 4 out of 5 times it looks like a pass to me.

  • QUESTION FROM Izaak247: h poker /(or against a player ive never seen play) in a hu play when i called a raise from them pre flop is it profitable to automatically check in the dark raise expecting my opponent to continuation bet...(DO MOST PLAYERS CONT BET?

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: They certainly did a few years ago. Then lots of players bought tracking software and the average CB dropped from 90% to more like 70% ... but still most players cant resist a continuation bet, if you check to them.

  • QUESTION FROM Super_Stunner: hmm, yeah maybe I'm thinking too deep that he does that with an ace so that I think he's bluffing. Thx for the awnser.

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: no worries good luck

  • QUESTION FROM Sergeycash: ?????? ?????? ??????? ?????? ????? WebMoney? ???????? ??????????

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: I have no idea sorry .. try support @ fulltiltpoker.com

  • QUESTION FROM Izaak247: so do u suggest check raise bluffing against playuers i have never played before?

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: Yes defintely if you have a good part of the flop. Its worth throwing in a few check raise bluffs as well and see how succesfull they are. I also like to throw in the occasional lead out donk bet as well to mix things up. Try few things and see what works

  • QUESTION FROM Bossw112: hi

    ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: hi

  • QUESTION FROM Izaak247: have u got better results live or online?

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: definately live lol ... the sites rackon I've won 2.6 million live .... erm I am barely even online ... I blame all the bounty huners and pesky t-shirt collectors

  • QUESTION FROM Moesie-What: are you playing right now

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: Nope somebody just knocked me out of the FTOPS PLO sat a few minutes ago ... I am just grabbing a coffee before the FTOPS PLO HU event which starts ain 40 minutes ... which I am hosting

  • QUESTION FROM Super_Stunner: Who are the best players you played live against?

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: I think John Jaunda was the best against me. He could see thru my cards. Called every bluff and passed every time I had a hand. Didnt use to have too much trouble with Helmuth or Phil Ivey strangely. In England Praz Bansi, James Aitkenhead, John Eames an

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: and JP Kelly may be the toughest opponents at the moment

  • QUESTION FROM Bossw112: you had 10 10 en som you had reaising en de oder gay reraising is hit good to go alin??

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: maybe baby , maybe not ... it depends how often he re-raises ... it's a tough marginal decision. You can only call if you take all the other factors into consideration

  • QUESTION FROM Izaak247: whats more profitable do you find. tournys or cash games?

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: again not an easy question to answer. If you can find an easy cash game, then that may be the most profitable and the most steady income. Tourneys though give you a chance of winning some really big life-changing money ... and I love playing them

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: the problem is the volatilty may take so so long to even out the variance, tourney players often go broke on a regular basis .. Ho hum, lets start again

  • QUESTION FROM Super_Stunner: do you use tracking software yourself? :P

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: Nope not any more ... but I do feel it leaves me at a dis-advantage

  • QUESTION FROM Bossw112: you playing somtime on luck or never??

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: wassat mean ? ... sometimes I am lucky sometimes I am unlucly ... I tend to try and make decisions based on skill / maths or observation though ... as difficult as they may be to believe lol

  • QUESTION FROM Super_Stunner: @Bossw112 I think it is in most cases better to fold, it depends on the player of course but at best u have a coin flip against everything higer than 10. And when ur against an overpair ur underdog. So I think you only should shove if ur short st

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: yup you may also want to consider the prize structre of the tourney. As they are top heavy sometimes its good to get it in against another chip leader because 1st always pays so much more than say 6th ...

  • QUESTION FROM Lucas90_x: what you mean about omaha? Is easy make money?

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: Not any more .. is it was easy when everyone was learning the game 10 years ago ... Howeevr Omaha is generally more fun than NLH and there is always more action

  • QUESTION FROM eatyourgreen: the casino near me just started sit&go tournament.but there 11 handed.and i dont have much experience playing a 11 man table.untill a few people drop out do you seggest playing a tight hand range?

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: Yup exactly, the more players the tighter. The less players the more aggressive I pay.... 11 handed I would be passing AQ at the start of a SNG

  • QUESTION FROM Izaak247: Why do people say 10 big blinds is a short stack others say 15 and others even say 20 is?is there any math to determine what a 'true' short stack is?

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: Not really it all depends on a players point of view. My logic ... 20 is not a short stach because you can still raise say 2.5 BBs and have a fold option if you are re-raised. dropping to 17.5 BBs is not a critical difference.. 10BBs is short because you

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: really dont want to raise 2.5 BBs and then fold leaving 25% behind. So with 10 BBs it better to push all-in. I personally dont consider myself short until 12 BBs

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: Playing draws aggresively is the main point of Doyle Brinson's original 'Super System' ... 90% of the top players do this. You win when your opponent folds and you win half the time they call. Theoretically a winning +ev move !

  • QUESTION FROM irishpool: Hi Dave, I noted that actually draws are played very agressive even if the player risks his tournament. what do you think about this?

  • QUESTION FROM Lucas90_x: for you who it is the best tournament player of today? what do you think about Caio Pimenta?

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: aio has a whole string of excellent results - far better than mine playing online. I think its impossible to say who is the best. There may be 1000 players wwho are 99.9% as good as each other. Also the game and styles change so swiftly whoever is best

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: this week may not be the best in a few weeks time

  • QUESTION FROM P-Man70: what car u drive?

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: Jagar XK8 :)

  • QUESTION FROM Izaak247: when should i change the size of my raise in tournements ? how deep should i get because i find when i watched the main event players started raising bout 3 x the big blind than when they got deep they raised like 2-2.5x the big blind...

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: You have to consider a) how likely are you to get called & b) do you want to be called / raised ... the smaller raise amount usually takes place when there is a lot of re-raising 3 betting taking place

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: the smaller raise is less to lose if you fold, and it gives opportuity to call, and 4 bet re-re-raise.... earlier on players may be 3x or 4x because thy just want to build a bigger pot or because they want to scare everyone out

  • QUESTION FROM eatyourgreen: so mostly high pocket pairs..ace, king, queen with high kicker? would you play high suited or connectors?

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: no connectore while 11 handed ... not for me

  • QUESTION FROM Super_Stunner: On low stakes, (weak)players tend to play almost every hands and if u raise the BB 3 times often the whole table calls. Is it better to raise 6 times BB against those people or is it better to play ultra tight

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: if you want to be profitable at very low stakes you have to play very tight in my experience

  • QUESTION FROM irishpool: Thanks ... although I did not made this experience with draws yet ... :-)

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: Do it

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: Just playing 1 st Heads Up match ... BRB

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: :) through round 1 :)

ANSWER FROM Dave Colclough: well I am somewhere inbetween ... think about it ... an EPT costs 8000 to play ... if you have a 100k bankroll should you play it? If you play 12 of them without a result you are broke even though you had a great bankroll

  • QUESTION FROM Kazzimmino: and you are for Ferguson's or for Durrr's?
