Filippo Candio plays online at Full Tilt Poker.

Filippo attended university in Italy, earning a degree in classic literature, and went on to study law. However, he put his studies on hold to take up poker full-time after getting interested in the game while watching it on television in his homeland. Filippo has been an active player on the European circuit since 2007, and his breakthrough win came in 2009’s Italian Poker Tour Championship in San Remo when he took home the title and $185,000.
Hard work and bankroll management are keys to being a good player, according to Filippo, and he stresses the importance of keeping a level head and not getting upset when things don’t go as planned.
Candio became the first Italian to reach the final table of the WSOP Main Event when he finished fourth in 2010. The Cagliari-based pro was the only European player in the 2010 November Nine and began the most famous final table in poker placed sixth in chips. He played much more conservatively at the final table than he had done previously and was eventually eliminated in fourth place, good for over $3 million.
Away from the tables, Filippo watches a lot of movies, and says he has learned most of his English from American films.
