Fabian Quoss

Hailing from Nuremberg, Germany, Fabian discovered poker in 2006 after being invited to a friend’s home game. He immediately fell in love with the game and began to study poker strategy, gradually working his way from the lowest stakes available up to some of the world’s biggest live tournaments.

Fabian is proud of the fact that his entire success has been built on the back of an initial $50 bankroll. He was a winning player right from the start, resulting from his aptitude for the game, the hours he spent studying poker strategy and his strong bankroll management skills.

Fabian is best known as a tournament specialist, having recorded an impressive list of results. In 2009, he narrowly missed out on becoming the first German player to win a WSOP bracelet when he finished second in the $5,000 No Limit Hold ‘em event, winning more than $425K. Fabian won the English Poker Open in 2010, triumphing over a professional-heavy field to win over $340K. He has also final tabled numerous WPT, EPT and APPT events.

The most important piece of advice Fabian offers beginners is avoid being overly results-oriented. He also advises players to continually scrutinize their play, carefully analyzing each tricky situation they find themselves in.

Away from the tables, Fabian is a passionate supporter of his hometown soccer team of FC Nuremberg. He also loves to travel, eat out with friends and attend lectures on a variety of subjects, including philosophy, economics and politics.
