Hal Lubarsky

A truly talented player, Brooklyn born Hal Lubarsky has been captivated by poker since he was a young man. In the early days, he combined playing poker with working as a casino dealer in Atlantic City, building his bankroll through regular play and careful money management.

After losing his sight in 2004, Hal fought to return to his beloved game, coming back on to the scene the following year. Using a reader to play online and an assistant in live play, Hal worked his way back to the tables. Since that time, he’s demonstrated that he’s still a true competitor at the tables.

In the 2007 WSOP Main Event, Hal battled his way through a field of over 6,300 entrants to place 197th, outlasting some of the biggest names in poker. He made WSOP history by becoming the first blind player to cash in the prestigious event and walked away with over $50K in prize money.

2008 saw Hal take 4th in the Deep Stack Extravaganza at the Venetian and 3rd at The Orleans in an open tournament with over a thousand players. Hal currently holds the record at the Mirage for winning the most tournaments in different daily events.
