在奧馬哈高/低賽中選擇起手牌

我堅信在奧馬哈高/低賽中無法非常謹慎的玩牌，特別是在常規賽中。我會首先承認，那樣謹慎的玩牌並不特別有趣，但除非您有耐心，那樣它將和那些任何能夠賺取獎金的比賽一樣好玩。

這是我如何謹慎玩奧馬哈高/低賽的想法：如果我玩HORSE，而且在進入下一場遊戲之前，拿牌拿到10局奧馬哈高/低牌，那很有可能，我不會玩一局牌。總體上說，我將可能每輪只玩一局。這是一個謹慎的策略，但在像奧馬哈高/低這樣的比賽中，很多玩家並不瞭解其手中成手的牌力，而且可能會犯錯，這是一個能夠獲勝策略。

而談到起手牌的時候，而且在任何情況下，我都從未在成手中沒有A的時候，自願地將錢放入底池。通常情況下，我需要的是A-2。這是理想狀況，那就是握有A-2還有一些其他的低牌。我也會玩 A-3，如果A是同色的。

當您放鬆對成手的要求時，那同時您也會陷入麻煩當中。例如我有像A-4-7-9和同色A這樣的成手。這樣的成手模棱兩可。我知道很多人玩這樣的成手，但這樣的成手會讓玩家很容易地陷入麻煩之中。如果我放棄成手，隨後看到一張對我來說有用的翻牌，那我也不會感到不悅。因為與我對手所玩的成手相比，我的A-4-7-9可能非常無力。

您所應該真正希望得到的成手是您所有的牌都能夠相互照應的成手。這裏是一局典型的奧馬哈高/低差牌，這其中的牌配合在一起並不好：K-10-3-4。一些人看到這局牌之後會說，“這局牌有一點高牌的可能，和一點低牌的可能”。的確，它的確是有一點可能—這點可能非常之小。這裏有2張差高牌和2張差低牌。
