Jared 'TheWacoKidd' Hamby plays online at Full Tilt Poker

It isn’t easy making a name for yourself in the world of online poker. It’s even harder to take that online success and translate it to the live poker world. But Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby has done both.

Jared Hamby

Over the past few years, Jared - known as the “TheWacoKidd” - has earned a reputation as one of the most feared players online, especially when it comes to multi-table tournaments. He has taken down huge paydays in several events, including a payday of more than $40K for a recent third-place finish in a $1K Monday tournament on Full Tilt Poker. Although he prefers to play MTTs online, he is also known to splurge on Sit & Gos and ring games every now and then.

Recently, “TheWacoKidd” decided to take his shot in the live poker world. He’s been on a tear in 2007, including great success in both WPT and WSOP events. Jared has cashed in three WPT tournaments and made a deep run in the WSOP Main Event, finishing in the top 100. He also won two events in April at the Five-Star World Poker Classic, bringing home over $500K for his tremendous performance.

Although it’s still early in his live poker career, Jared is now a true rarity in the poker world − a double threat. While many top online players have tried and failed in their attempts at live poker, he’s thrived. This “Kidd” has gotten a taste, and is ready for more action.
