FTP Masters Series
Only the best can earn the right to play in Spain’s most prestigious and exclusive poker series – the Full Tilt Poker Masters Series. Prove you belong and compete for $250,000 in total prize money and the title of Masters Series Champion.
What is the FTP Masters Series?
Full Tilt Poker is staging four exclusive two-day live events, testing a range of essential poker skills, to find the most complete poker players in Spain. Fields for each event will be limited to the top players from Full Tilt Poker Series – España and Mini Full Tilt Poker Series – España events and players who qualify online exclusively through Full Tilt Poker.
The four Masters Series Events take place on the following dates. Please note that the dates and location for Event 2 have been changed from what was previously announced:
- Event 1: to be held at the Casino Gran Madrid on March 14th and 15th – €50,000 Guarantee
- Event 2: to be held at the Gran Casino Torrequebrada in Málaga on August 24th and 25th – €50,000 Guarantee
- Event 3: to be held at the Gran Casino Torrequebrada in Málaga on August 22nd and 23rd – €50,000 Guarantee
- Grand Final: to be held at the Casino Gran Madrid on December 5th and 6th – €100,000 Guarantee
Players will compete in a range of poker formats over the three days of each event:
Day One, Part One – Turbo tournament
Day One, Part Two – Deep-stack tournament
Points will be awarded to players based on their finishing position in each tournament, and the top 16 players will progress to Day Two.
Day Two, Part One – Short-handed Shootout tournament
Winner of the Short-handed Shootout will receive €5,000*. Points will be awarded to players based on finishing position and added to the totals from Day One. Only the top eight players will progress.
Day Two, Part Two – Heads-up tournament, culminating in a heads-up battle between the final two players for the top prize and the title of Spanish Masters Series Champion.
Winners of the first three events will receive €45,000*. Winner of the Grand Final will receive €95,000*.
Qualify for Free only at Full Tilt Poker
Residents of Spain can earn their way for free to any of the four live FTP Masters Series events by competing in our online qualifying tournaments.
Round 1 Freeroll Qualifiers
Round 1 Freerolls will be held daily at 21:35 CET through November 26th, 2011.
Finish among the leaders in a Round 1 Freeroll and you will win a ticket to a Final Qualifier.
Final Qualifiers
Final Qualifiers will be held on select Sundays at 21:55 CET through November 27th. For a list of Final Qualifier dates, see the Rules Page.
Each Final Qualifier will award at least two prize package to a Masters Series Event.
How to Register for the Masters Series
If you don’t have a Full Tilt Poker account, download the free game software and set up an account. Once you’ve done so, log in to Full Tilt Poker and follow these steps to register for a Masters Series tournament:
- Open the Lobby menu at the top of the Full Tilt Poker game lobby and select Choose Lobby View > Standard View.
- Set the filters in the browser area to Tournament >Live Events> Hold’em> No Limit > Freerolls/FTPs
- Scroll down the game list and look for tournaments highlighted in green labeled Masters Series.
- Click the Register Here link. This will lead you to a web page where you can register for the tournament.
Qualify via the Full Tilt Poker Series – España
The top six finishers from each Full Tilt Poker Series – España event will automatically qualify for the next FTP Masters Series event, as will the top two finishers from each Mini Full Tilt Poker Series – España event.
In addition, each live Series España event will award Leaderboard points to competitors based on their finishing position. The nine players atop the Leaderboard upon completion of the final Series España Event on December 4th will qualify for the final Masters Series Event on December 5th – see our Rules page for details on the points system.
