Brian Townsend defeats Patrik Antonius in Main Event

The fourth Friday Night Fights Main Event pitched Patrik Antonius against Brian Townsend on May 22nd. Playing on a $50/$100 HA table, Brian Townsend won the match-up with an Ace high flush in a final pot worth $19,590.  

There was a large turnout on the rail, with 918 players playing in Patrik Antonius’ Sweat Tournament and 702 turning out to root for Townsend. maddogman73 took the honors in Patrik’s tournament, winning $7,344, and Kumar1k won $5,616 in the Townsend game.

259 players played in the weekly $500 + $35 Friday Night Fights Knockout Tournament for a prize pool of $103,600. WILLY-RUGS took home the first place prize.

Qureshi is the winner of the third Main Event

Brandon Adams and Haseeb Qureshi were the two latest pros to clash in the Friday Night Fights Main Event on May 1st. Playing $25/$50 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi and starting with $5K in chips in a “winner take all” session, the pros battled it out over 111 hands, before Qureshi won the contest by rivering a Queen to make a full house against Adams’ Ace-high straight.

1,451 players railed the two pros by playing in two Sweat Tournaments with prize pools of $5K in each tournament. Jay Andrew was the first place finisher in the Brandon Adams tournament and rwestover took down the Haseeb Qureshi tournament.  

The weekly $500 + $35 Friday Night Fights Knockout Tournament had a total prize pool of $104,400.  Ericbrewb emerged as the winner from a field of 261 players.

Giang defeats Elezra in second Main Event

On Friday, April 10th, Eli Elezra took on Chau Giang in the second Friday Night Fights Main Event. The two high-stakes experts played heads-up $100/$200 Pot-Limit Omaha, each starting with $10K for the winner-take-all event. The two ended up all in post-flop after 300 hands and two-and-a-half hours, with Giang in the lead by more than $4K. Elezra finished the night when his two pair – Queens and 7s – failed to stand up against Giang’s King-high straight.   

The Main Event Sweat Tournaments attracted over 2,100 players and featured a combined prize pool of more than $17,000. inaciobr took the top spot in the Elezra Sweat Tournament for $9,672, while Donald Duck82 took down the Giang Sweat Tournament for $7,280. For backing the Main Event winner and taking down his Sweat, Donald Duck82 was also awarded entry to the next $500 + $35 Knockout Bounty Tournament.

The weekly $500 + $35 Friday Night Fights Knockout Tournament saw 316 players and a total prize pool of $126,400. two8off was the tournament winner, claiming $31,600 in prize money.

Gus Hansen wins the first Main Event

Gus Hansen and Andy Bloch squared off in the first Friday Night Fights Main Event on March 20th 2009. Playing heads-up in a $50/$100 HA game – half Pot-Limit Hold ‘em, half Pot-Limit Omaha – they started with $10K in chips in a “winner take all” session. Thirty three hands were played in a fast and furious 43 minute match. Gus Hansen won, taking the majority of the chips in the last pot ($14,489), beating Andy’s Queen high flush with an Ace high flush.

2,287 people railed the Main Event in Sweat Tournaments. The prize pool of $18,296 for the two tournaments easily beat the $5K guarantees. dadkev won Andy Bloch’s Sweat Tournament earning $2,056 and zoyberg777 won $1,718 for first place in Gus Hansen’s Sweat Tournament. NazTJim won the $500 bonus prize to enter the next Knockout Tournament.

The weekly $500 + $35 Friday Night Fights Knockout Tournament attracted 306 players with a total prize pool of $122,400. TAKETHECANOLLIS won the first place prize of $29,376.
