We all started with a lot of chips in the HORSE event. Personally, my cards have been very dead, but fortunately we started with 50,000 chips. I’m down 15,000, but I still have plenty of chips. It’s kind of nice to play in a tournament where you can have a bad six hours and still be pretty safe.

There haven’t been any good rounds for me so far. I don’t think I’ve won more than one pot in any one round. It’s been a very dry day. It’s also been a weird table. David Oppenheim’s probably the chip leader at our table, and he’s only got $65,000. It’s been kind of a back-and-forth day.

As far as the marked-cards controversy goes, there really isn’t one. These decks get marked up over time. I think a lot of players in this particular tournament are just disappointed that we didn’t start with fresh cards. They stuck with the regular rotation, and when these cards have been out there for a couple of weeks they tend to get pretty scuffed up.
