A Failure to Adjust

Posted by Chris Ferguson

I’m playing the $3,000 buy-in limit hold ‘em tournament today, and so far I’ve seen some strange play that I’m trying to adjust to.

I’m pretty sure that a lot of these people are accustomed to playing no-limit hold ‘em, and they’re not adapting well to the change in structure. Some players are bluffing too frequently, failing to realize that in limit, bluffing isn’t nearly as effective. Others seem to be folding too frequently; they’re not stopping to consider the huge pot odds they’re getting to call a bet.

The truth is, limit isn’t my favorite game. I find no-limit a lot more interesting.

Back to the tables.

Update: I just busted. Looking forward to game I find more interesting tomorrow.
