An Even Quicker Chat With Jen Harman
Five minutes before she was to sit down in the poker tournament with the biggest buy-in in history, Jen Harman still found time to share her thoughts about today’s event.
SR: Some people want to call the HORSE event the new world championship. What do you think of that?
JH: I feel that in order to be considered the world champion you’ve got to be able to play all the games. Poker isn’t only no-limit hold’em. That’s just one game. To be a great poker player you’ve got to be able to play all the games. I don’t know if this will take over as the main event because the main event is history, but if you win this tournament it will be a great feat.
SR: Erik Seidel is actually pushing for a higher buy-in, perhaps $100,000. What do you think about that?
JH: I think $50,000 is perfect. [Laughs] I think that’s high enough.
SR: Do you agree with making the final table all no-limit hold’em?
JH: I’d like to see HORSE all the way through. It’s a game of many games. But if they switch it to no-limit hold’em that’s okay with me too.
SR: Doyle was saying they did it just to appease the TV-watching masses.
JH: It could be. It would be interesting if they kept the final table HORSE because then it could educate the public. They could learn some more games.
