Feeling Good in HORSE

Posted by Kristy Gazes

I feel good although I started off kind of crummy. I went all the way down to $30,000 relatively quickly. Then I got on a rush in limit hold’em, which is funny because I really hate that game. And then in razz I won a couple nice hands.

I’m at a tough table, but they all are. I feel really good playing against the pros. I actually feel more comfortable playing against pros because I play so few tournaments. I usually play high-stakes cash games where I’m playing pros most of the time so when I play against the general public I don’t know a lot of the people and it feels a lot tougher to me. It’s felt that way in the six tournaments I have played here so far.

The tournament’s been flowing really smoothly from round to round, which is a little surprising because they have stud games and I know dealers don’t deal as much stud anymore. It’s just not that popular. Everyone in this tournament knows how to play all these games although we did have this one player at our table who was stalling in Omaha because he wanted the button for the next round of games and we had to call the floor on him. The floorman gave him a thirty-second countdown and told him next time it would be a ten-minute penalty for intentionally stalling.
