I made my first dinner break yesterday in the limit hold ‘em event. That was exciting. During the break I did an interview with CardPlayer that you can listen to. After telling everyone how well I was doing, I went back, got card dead, and busted.
Today the first non-hold ‘em event started, and I’m really enjoying it. It’s nice to be playing a game where you’re looking at more than two cards. The players who are playing in this event are really bad – they make some really big mistakes.
I’m also looking forward to the upcoming Stud events. On Wednesday I’ll be playing in the $1,500 Seven-Stud tournament. I looked at the structure sheet for the event and saw that the blind/ante structure is a little strange.
For example, in the first level, the ante is $5, the low-card bring in is $5 and the completion is $10. I’ve never played Stud where the antes were so high relative to the bets. With this structure, it’s going to be proper to play pretty loose.
I’ll let you know how it goes and what adjustments I end up making.
