Need a Couple of Early Breaks
I’ve played five events and so far I’ve made seven breaks. YES!!
Actually, I feel like I haven’t gotten into it yet. I haven’t even made it to a dinner break.
In the first round or two of these tournaments, you really can’t bluff. You can’t get fancy. People don’t have anything to lose, so they’ll stick around to try to pick off a bluff or catch a card. You’re going to take a few two- and three-outers when the play is like this, and I’ve seen a few of those.
It’s no big deal though. I’m sure in the next event or two I’ll get a hold of a few chips.
The good news is that I think I’m playing okay. I haven’t been playing a lot of poker in the last few months because of my work at Full Tilt. But I haven’t forgotten how to play -– you don’t forget how to ride a bike.
I’m sure I’ll be playing better in a month, when the big money’s at stake. Right now I just have to wait for a tournament where I get a few early breaks.
