Our Lawsuit Against the WPT
What prompted our lawsuit against the WPT was three years of intransigence from the leadership of the World Poker Tour. We’ve had issues like this for years and years. We have done our absolute best to approach them and come to a settlement for both parties. They refused. They said it was their way or the highway, and we chose the legal way. We have the best legal team in the country, and we know we’re on firm ground and we will not let it stand, what’s going on right now.
We really didn’t want to file during the World Series because we didn’t want it to be a distraction from what is the world’s greatest poker event, but, truth be told, this is the only time all seven of us are together. The media’s here. It made sense at the end of the day.
I expect the reaction to be… shocked. I expect them to give our complaint serious consideration as it deserves to be, and I hope that they’re taking this very seriously because we’re not going away and we will not settle this until they come to the table and make things right.
