#044 – FTOPS #7 Update G – Lose the Name of Action
I took a couple body blows after the break and was down to 10,000 chips. On the button, I raised the 600 big blind to 1,800. The big blind, who had a few more chips than me, pushed all-in.
The screwy think is it “felt” like he didn’t have anything. Not that it mattered – A-8o is a good enough hand in that situation, but I had the added feeling that he was overplaying a weak hand.
I called and he showed Qd-7d. He caught a seven on the flop and that’s all she wrote. And all I wrote. Some guy on the rail has been following me around, cheering over my bad beats. I didn’t look at the observer chat after I went out, but at least I made someone’s night.
Out in 159th.
I’m going to go to bed early tonight. I’ll recap the final nine tomorrow.

I mean that as I type it, but one minute later, I know I’m lying. I’ll play another tournament or two tonight, probably a pair I swore I’d never play again. And with so many good online tournament players still left – CaseyTheKid, who WON last night, is 3d in chips – and many Full Tilt Poker pros still in the mix, this could be an awesome final table. Just looking at the list, I see plenty of names I recognize – Casey, David Chiu, Rizen, Roothlus. And that’s just in the top 14.
