#067 - Heads-Up Championship Part IV - Katie Lindsay Owns Me

Posted by Michael Craig

Katie Lindsay is the young, smart, funny, pretty, friendly poker correspondent who is doing video interviews from the Championship for Pokerwire.com. She is a good friend of mine and a degenerate gambler. As she squeezed by me in press row just before the start, she said, “Now I have to figure out a way to bet.” To be nice, I offered to take the opposite side of most of the clubs bracket. We negotiated a couple of them where we both wanted the same side.

I’m getting killed. After the first six matches, Katie is 6-0. Shannon Elizabeth picked up the first win, against Rene Angelil. Jeff Madsen beat Steve Zolotow. Part of the compromise was that I got Erick Lindgren againast Vanessa Rousso, then Erick dogged it and lost. Chip Reese flopped a straight when he and Paul Darden were all-in and he defeated Paul. Barry Greenstein won over Carlos Mortensen. And Phil Laak just defeated Marco Traniello.

Huck Seed just beat Patrik Antonious in the tallest of the first round matches, lifting me to 1-6. Erik Seidel, my horse, is still going at it with Humberto Brenes, whose foot I stepped on last night.

(Humberto just got it all-in with 6-9. Seidel called with A-K. Humberto, who is playing to the cameras WAY TOO MUCH, flopped the nut straight.)

Watch Katie Lindsay’s video interviews with the players on Pokerwire.com (that’s probably how she’s getting the inside info she’s using to swindle from me). But don’t bet with her on anything.
