In the first half of the third round, Shannon Elizabeth stunned Barry Greenstein, defeating him in 34 minutes to become the first player to advance to tomorrow’s quarterfinals.
Shannon played aggressive, taking away the betting lead from Barry several times. She took a chip lead and won it with J-6, flopping a full house of J-6-6. She let Barry (with A-T) bet the flop and turn, just calling. The turn and river came K-Q, giving him a straight. He bet the river, Shannon raised all-in, and Barry called.
And I watched Shannon’s purse, doing my feng shui best not to let it touch the ground. I got a hug from Shannon out of it, which was probably a bargain for me.
