#095 – The Greatest Poker Game – Part II (The Second 37 Hands)
THE SECOND 37 HANDS
PAGE 618
[I encourage you to read the introduction (#093) and also be patient if you don't enjoy the process of reading through the hands. I noted each hand for several half-hour periods, including the first two half-hours of this game. Especially as Andy Beal jumped out to a lead and Ted Forrest seemed to be playing tentatively, I thought maybe I was keeping a record of the end of the entire match - that Andy Beal would clean out Forrest, win the $10 million, and quit poker with all his questions answered. Of course, life isn't so easily sorted out, especially when poker is involved and especially ESPECIALLY when Ted Forrest is involved. So even if hand notations aren't your thing, note what happened in the big hands as well as the general flow of the money. I hope your patience will be rewarded.]

Ted should fold. Does.

Andy played the role of Ted on that hand. [By this, I am referring to my characterization of Ted as the ultimate “junkman,” capable of playing any kind of hand, and therefore able to credibly bet at the kind of flop that would miss a player holding to “traditional” hand values. Ted seemed to bedevil Andy in that fashion during the 2+ days they had played two weeks before.]
