#131 - FTOPS 2B - The Fast, Fast Wrap-Up

Posted by Michael Craig

I returned from my Dad’s birthday party in time to catch the final table of the second FTOPS event, Pot Limit Omaha with rebuys.

But first, the tease.

My Full Tilt tournament-director buddy, Disco Stu, dropped this tidbit in my lap: the winner of FTOPS #1 last night, get_that, has made the final table of the WSOP Main Event within the last three years.

Tonight, for the second night, the Full Tilt pros are net losers. With eleven pros in the field, rebuys, and the add-on, there was only one, Ross Boatman, in the final 72. His $1,660 couldn’t have covered the action of those other ten. (Incidentally, Mike Matusow did not rebuy or, to my knowledge, play a hand. He finished 322nd.)

Terpfan2 picked up the win and the $53,000. The end came fast. When they were seven handed, he had 2 million of the 3.5 million chips and got his chips in with big hands or, after the flop, with made hands. He picked up great cards but he also folded a lot of hands.

FTOPS #3 on Sunday is going to be HUGE. $750,000 guarantee, $300 + $22 NLHE featuring Huck Seed as the hosting pro. Big field, big money, all the big online players, lots and lots and lots of pros.

I’m flying back to Scottsdale during the first few hours so I’ll have to miss it, unless they have Internet access on the plane. I’ll watch it after I get home and play some on Sunday night. Good luck playing in it. It’s a little harder to win that usual, since my dead money will be on the sidelines.

So who is that guy who won FTOPS #1, the WSOP final table guy? Any answers or any comments, e-mail suicideking@fulltiltpoker.com.
