I busted out of the $2000 NLHE event at about 11 PM, finishing ahead of about 1300 of the 1500 entrants but, unfortunately, not in the money. The hour after the dinner break was a disaster and I went from 29,000 chips to 12,000. I picked up the blinds once and split a pot when someone called my all-in with A-T. The hand I went out on featured slowplayed aces, me making three kings, and a guy with pocket nines making a full house.
Andy Bloch busted right after me, but Clonie was doing great when I left her in the Amazon Room.
Clonie Gowen got into town yesterday and has apparently made herself right at home. She’s sharing a house with Shannon Elizabeth, has blonde hair again, is playing late into the night in the $2000 NLHE with a lot of chips, and was getting a massage when I visited her after I busted.
I had earlier told her my story of vandalism, theft, and sudden forced relocation.
“did you find a new place to stay yet? If not, you can use the spare bedroom at my place for a little while.”
The spare bedroom? At YOUR place? This is the place you’re sharing with SHANNON ELIZABETH, right?
I knew this was my lucky day; it just didn’t hold up at the poker table.
It seemed too good an offer to pass up, but I did. I’ve been at the World Series of Poker for six days. Poker has hardened me sufficiently in that time so that I realize if something looks too good to be true, it probably is.
I don’t even know what terrible thing would have happened to me if I took Clonie up on her offer and bunked with her and Shannon until some guest bumped me. But whatever it would have been, I’d have gone down the drain with a smile.
P.S. – I have many notes of the last several days to turn into entries as soon as I get a chance. I don’t know if I mentioned it but I already secured pool and jacuzzi privileges at Casa de Girls.
