OK, there IS an Andy Bloch golf-betting story making the rounds. In fact, it involves Andy Bloch AND Chris Ferguson on the golf course. They’ve both taken up the game recently, because one of them got an opportunity to get some lessons and they decided to take them together.

Chris won more than twenty-seven dimes from Andy several weeks back.

It was actually $2.75, and Andy told me had to beg Ferguson to bet that much.

At the other end of both the table and the spectrum, there’s a story Erick Lindgren mentioned between hands. “I bet Phil $10,000 – first one to throw a club had to pay $10,000. That lasted four holes. I’d been out all night and as I started to throw the club, I thought … but it was too late. I was club-committed.”

Come to think of it, every Erick Lindgren story I’ve ever heard involves Erick being out all night at some point.

At about 3:10 PM, Andy picked up a three-way pot as follows:

He raised to $1,700 in middle position. Phil Ivey flat-called in late position. Tony G, in the big blind, called. The flop came A-7-Q. All three checked. The turn was another ace. Tony G bet $5,000. Both Bloch and Ivey called. The river was a six and all three checked. Andy took it with Q-T. The pot was over $21,000.
