#278 – The Harpo Line
I took Harpo, the Million Dollar Dog, to the vet today for his follow-up treatment on his ear infection. (Incidentally, the vet’s staff all refer to him as “the Million Dollar Dog”.) When I picked my son Barry up at school, he asked, “Did the swelling go down enough from them to look into his ear canal?”
“Yes.”
“Did they find anything?”
“Yeah. They found $162, and room on their calendar to schedule another follow up appointment in two weeks.”
I think they’re probably making additional money off me, booking bets on whether I’ll keep coming back to these appointments. Somewhere, John Hennigan is handing over $10,000 to Jennifer Harman (who, I have to assume, as an animal lover, is locked into the pet-owner prop-betting network) and muttering, “I figured there was no way he would even SCHEDULE another follow up appointment. You’re going to have to start giving me odds or I’m calling off the bet.”
