#311 – Hear Ye, Fear Ye! FTOPS VII Schedule Announced
Full Tilt just announced the schedule for FTOPS VII, the series of tournaments which, if they didn’t exist, I’d have enough extra money in my account to buy into the World Series of Poker Main Event. But I am undeterred. This is a such a cool series of tournaments that, my past 99 failures notwithstanding, I’m going to try again. FTOPS VII runs from February 6 to February 17. Here is the schedule:

Here are a few things to note:
1. If you play every event and make an average number of rebuys, you [read: I] will be paying about $5,500 for this Series.
2. Event #1 is going to have a tough time making its guarantee. Over 3,700 players on a Wednesday night? I hope they get there and I’ll probably be among the horde, but it’s a big number to reach.
3. Event #2 is at 2 PM EST on a Thursday, an indication that Full Tilt is growing in Europe, and the popularity of PLO in the European markets.
4. There are 3 knockout events in FTOPS VII.
5. Howard Lederer is the scheduled host for Event #11, OEOB. It’ll be interesting seeing Howard returning to playing again on Full Tilt. He’s pretty busy, though I bug him about it whenever I see him.
6. I predict Events 7-9 ($100 + $9 NLHE with rebuys, $120 + $9 NLHE KO, and the Sunday $300 + $22 NLHE) will soar over their guarantees of $400k, $150k, and $1M.
