#420 - Full Tilt Heads-Up Championship - Action Deck
Just 15 minutes into the round of 16, 3 of the matches are over. I watched the end of the Andy Bloch/ActionJeff match and it wasn’t pretty.
Bloch had a small lead, 21,880/18,120. ActionJeff raised his button to 240 (blinds were 40-80) and Andy called. The flop was 9h-4d-2h. Andy checked. ActionJeff bet 450. Andy raised to 900. ActionJeff called.
The river was the ace of clubs. They got it all-in on this card though, ironically, neither had an ace. Bloch bet 2,000. ActionJeff raised to 6,300. Bloch moved all-in and ActionJeff called.
Andy Bloch - 9-9 (set of nines)
ActionJeff - 5-3o (for a straight)
Andy still had ten outs and hit one of them when the river brought another four, making him a full house.
“Wow, cold deck,” Bloch said.
These are the match-ups for the third round:
Table 1 - FinddaGrind v. Turbofluen
Table 2 - aejones v. mastrblastr
Table 3 - mischiefofmagic v. DaEvils
Table 4 - Nordberg v. whitelime (already won by whitelime)
Table 5 - pr1nnyraid v. Ansky451
Table 6 - Brian Hastings v. Howard Lederer (appearing to be another sumo-style Lederer match where the pots are small and someone either makes a big mistake or both players make big hands)
Table 7 - David Singer v. buck99 (Singer has a 27k/12k chip lead as I write this, though the way his last match went, no lead is safe. David and Brandon Adams went at it like a pair of bull elephants for 2 hours, probably 250-300 hands. Both players had big leads at one time and the blinds were so high by the end - 200-400, 50 ante - that it was bound to end soon. And kudos to Brandon, who got no favors from the draw, beating Chris Ferguson in round 1)
Table 8 - ActionJeff v. Andy Bloch (Bloch, as I mentioned above, has won this one)
