Have I or have I not been telling you since last year that Yuval “The Hawk” Bronshtein is capable of big things?

Mind you, it wasn’t as if I was going out on a limb when I suggested this. He had made final tables at WSOP and WSOP-E in 2007 and won an FTOPS event. And he had the audacity to suggest to me that Full Tilt should make him a pro, just for cashing five times and making two final tables in eleven career live tournaments.

Yuval showed up at the World Series this year with a blue mohawk. Some might think that was “anti-marketing” to get a gig with Full Tilt but I knew better. He must have seen – or maybe even sensed – that Perry Friedman would have the Full Tilt logo shaved and painted into the side of his head. Without actually pimping for the site, Bronshtein was merely sending the message, “I’m up for anything.”

Maybe Uncle Tilty didn’t get that message. Maybe he simply thought yuvee04 had gotten lucky with those two final tables, that FTOPS win, and all that online Razz success.

Well, Yuval Bronshtein’s price just went up. In what was supposed to be my big night – hosting the Turbo FTOPS and playing the HORSE, representing tournaments I’ve won six times in the last year on Full Tilt – the Hawk

won

them

both!

I can’t even begin to describe how sick that is. He beat 2,472 players in the $200 + $16 NLHE Turbo while starting his march on the HORSE. The two combined were worth over $172,000. Granted, many players who have won a single FTOPS event scored for more. And others have won two. And Halfrek won the two biggest money events in FTOPS VIII.

But this is two in one night. And it’s a total of three FTOPS events. And look at the breadth of the games: Stud EOB, NLHE Turbo, HORSE.

If Uncle Tilty tells me maybe he just got lucky twice more, I may have to quit this blog and become Yuval’s agent to get him a deal with Full Tilt.

Assuming they can afford him.

Good work, Hawk!
