#522 – London 2008 #29 – Million Dollar Cash Game – Dinner Break (Again?)

Posted by Michael Craig

The game is currently on hiatus until 7 PM for a dinner break. A few of the gourmands, Patrik Antonius and David Benyamine, have decided to join action-hungry Mike Matusow in a game of Chinese Poker during the break. That game is going on just over my left shoulder and it’s a shame Chris Ferguson has left the building. It would take all his skills to resolve the discussions after every game over the scores and the multipliers. (They’re playing $500-$2,000 a point and the specifics are behind me … and them too, I think.) [I just heard Matusow in the background say, "You're fuckin' insane. Do I have to send you to fuckin' math school?"]

Here are the chip counts at the break:

Patrik Antonius – Patrik has bought in for $400,000 and currently has $287,000. He’s lost some since the last count, though no titanic hands I know of.

Eli Elezra – bought in for $100,000 and is up to $172,400.

Gus Hansen – Gus has left the game with a $34,800 profit on his $100,000 buy-in. He got very active in the last several hands before the break, and no one looked him up.

David Benyamine – David is ahead $51,300 on his original $100k.

Tom Dwan – Until recently, Tom was one of the guys throwing the party. He’s still down $113,700 on his $300,000 in buy-ins, but I saw him take down a couple pots just before the break.

Phil Hellmuth – Phil is just about even, with $104,300.

Phil Ivey – Both Phils are even, Ivey down just $5,600 on his $300,000 investment.

Chris Ferguson – He’s one of the big winners so far, with $169,300, from a buy-in of $100,000.

Here’s the shorthand:

Elezra +72
Ferguson +69
Benyamine +51
Hansen +35
Hellmuth +4
Ivey -5
Antonius -113
Dwan -114

Gus has left the game and Mike Matusow will take his seat.
