I’ve been told that they are playing until 11 PM tonight, so we’re just completing what’s probably the last break. Here is where the players stand:
Seat 1 – Patrik Antonius – He’s bought in for $400k and now has $301k, down about $100k.
Seat 2 – Eli Elezra – Eli, off his original $100k buy-in, now has $242,800.
Seat 3 – Mike Matusow – (Remember, Gus retired about $30k winner in this seat, if you’re trying to check the math.) Mike bought in for $100k and now has $40k. He lost most of it to Tom Dwan on one hand, where he got stuck with such good draws he had to call along, including a value bet by Dwan on the river even though Mike had only ace-high. Mike’s stuck about $60k.
Seat 4 – David Benyamine – He’s bought in for $500k and now has $620,900, for a profit of about $120k.
Seat 5 – Tom Dwan – Benyamine busted Tom on a hand that I, due to writing up the last several posts about other fascinating hands, missed. Tom has now bought in for $450k and has $141,600 and is the big loser so far, stuck about $310k.
Seat 6 – Phil Hellmuth – Phil is stuck $40k, all on that hand with the deuces to Ivey, and has $59,400. To his credit, he didn’t tilt after his mumblefest following that hand.
Seat 7 – Phil Ivey – Ivey’s about even for today, with $305,500 against $300k in buy-ins.
Seat 8 – Chris Ferguson – Jesus is walking on water today, with $303,800, all from one buy-in of $100k. Other than the one hand against Antonius, which wasn’t even a big loser, his play has been uniformly superb.
