#540 – London 2008 #47 – Million Dollar Cash Game – Hellmuth’s in for Another Hundred
Phil Hellmuth is fuming nad the object of his ire is – no surprise – Mike Matusow. Despite the fact the two are good friends and confidants, they LOVE giving each other shit and taking chips from each other. And it’s all going Mike’s way now.
One hand after Hellmuth, on a short stack of about $55,000, moved all-in with A-9 to get David Benyamine to fold A-T, he reraised Mike Matusow and Tom Dwan all-in. Matusow had raised with T-T and Dwan called with A-2c. Matusow called and Dwan folded.
Hellmuth showed A-Q and Mike’s tens held up. (He actually made a straight on the river though he didn’t need it.)
Hellmuth: “Idiot, Matusow. Guess you were just hoping for even money. Good read.”
Matusow: “I have the best and and bust his ass and I’m still an idiot. will someone help me with this one?”
This scene ends with Matusow singing, Hellmuth fuming – and buying in for another $100,000.
