Apologies for any inconvenience and delay resulting from my suspending/modifying the contest announced last week. But I realized that it could be even better if I replaced that contest with THREE contests, each geared toward a characteristic about one of Full Tilt’s WSOP final table trio. This contest, inspired by Craig Marquis, is titled CASH GAME KILLER.

This is the first of the three contests that will replace the “Buy the Coach” contest I announced next week. The other two will accompany the profiles of Scott Montgomery and Kelly Kim.

To people who understand Craig Marquis’s experience and commitment, his Main Event performance hasn’t been a surprise. A year and a half of constant play at as many as 12 tables at a time can make you a cash game killer … if you learn the right things.

In this contest, write a short essay with ONE idea about how to be a cash game killer.

That’s the contest; here are the rules:

1. Explain one idea, or tip, or concept, or theory, or misconception, or piece of advice that you’d give to someone learning how to play no-limit hold ‘em cash games like the $2-$4 games on Full Tilt.

2. The idea doesn’t have to be original but I give points for originality, soundness, explanation, and “the ahhhh factor.” (My example of the ahhhh factor: when Andy Bloch showed me the table of how every hand does against every other hand and pointed out that most bad hands (like 2-3o) aren’t bigger than 2-1 dogs against most good hands (like A-K), so you should probably call all-in with most bad hands if you are getting 2-1.)

3. I won’t automatically disqualify entries based on length but consider 50-200 words as the recommended length.

4. E-mail entries to mrchaotic@aol.com. The subject line should read as follows: Cash Game Killer. Due to spam programs and the variety of things that can happen to an e-mail, I bear no responsibility for mislaid entries, regardless of the cause.

5. Entries must be received by Midnight, ET on Thursday, November 6. Late entries will be dealth with at my discretion. I will attempt to name winners on Monday, November 10 and post the winning entries and some of the others during the following week, most likely after I complete my coverage of the Final Table.

6. All entries become the property of The Full Tilt Poker Blog and may appear, in whole or in part, edited or unedited.

7. Prizes: The best response will receive a prize worth $216, either an entry into FTOPS X, Event #14, $200 + $16 NLHE-Turbo, scheduled for 21:00 ET, Tuesday, November 11, or, if Uncle Tilty says it’s okay, $216 to use in your regular cash game. At my discretion, the prizes may be substituted for tournament credit. Entrants must be eligible to participate in FTOPS X to win.

8. Multiple entries are allowed in this contest and you are allowed to enter all three contests.

9. Rules may be modified at my discretion.

Get to work! The other two contests will be announced when the profiles of Scott Montgomery and Kelly Kim appear.
