Remember, gang, that I have THREE essay contests running in which I’m offering a total of three prize packages worth $216 each, most likely entries into the Turbo event in FTOPS X. So if you like $216 and you know how to touch your fingers to a keyboard, enter as much as you like.

These are the approaching deadlines:

Contest 3A – Cash Game Killer - Thursday, November 6 [The original rules contained the non-existent "Thursday, November 4" so I changed it to extend the deadline to the 6th.] This is the one where you share a great piece of mid-stakes NLHE cash-game advice.

Contest 3B – Tournament Star - Thursday, November 6. This is the one where you explain who you would hire to coach you if you were Scott Montgomery at the final table of the Main Event, how much you think you’d have to pay, and what the coach would do.

Contest 3C – Enigma - Saturday, November 8. This is the contest in which you tell a story involving, in some way, (a) you, (b) a buddy, and (c) gambling.

By the way, now that you can make comments on the blog, tell me what you think would be a good idea for a future contest. If I use your idea – my judgment call on whether a future contest is based on an idea presented here – I’ll give you something. It won’t be viral pneumonia but it’ll be nice, though not huge, or hugely nice.

i think the idea’s you have a great. Maybe a fun contest is something like, what would you do if you won 10.000 dollars in terms of playing poker. Might get some fun stories with that one.

WRITE YOUR OWN POKER BLOG CONTEST

Each contestants submits a week of blog entries (1-a-day) talking about their experiences on the Full Tilt Tables and whatever live games they have attended.

Each entry should be 1 or 2 short paragraphs. Ideally, they should be both analytical and anecdotal. (code for not too nerdy – descriptive but entertaining)

The winner gets to have their week of entries published on your blog.

    CREATE A PROMOTION CONTEST

We have all reaped the benefits of the HAPPY HOURS, the END-OF YEAR BONUSES and the IRON-MAN COMPETITIONS on Full Tilt.

What if the readers of the Blog were given the opportunity to formulate their own Promotion. Just as if they were in charge of Full Tilt’s operation, they would have all of Full Tilt’s personnel (friends/pros/staff), tournaments and advertising machine at their disposal.

    THE FULL TILT ELECTION

You are running for election… to be President of Full Tilt but you need the votes of the playing public.

Write either a campaign strategy or a campaign speech which you would expect to secure the Presidency.

OR HOW ABOUT THE ‘WHO CAN COME UP WITH THE MOST IDEAS FOR A COMPETITION’ COMPETITION?

    Hi,

since Full Tilt is esp. famous for its Pros – and there are many of them lately – why not a contest in wich you have to write about your favorite Pro? And it doesn’t matter if you write about how you met the Pro or busted him or her out of a tourney or why you just like the way the Pro plays or the lifestyle they live. Winner would be the one with the story you liked most Michael. I am sure this contest would draw a lot of attention, both among the fans and the Pros.

    CONTEST 3B

For coaching Scott Montgomery at the final table, I would hire none other than Phil Ivey himself. This is because Phil Ivey has been to countless final tables, is the king of handling pressure, and has many cashes in multiple events. He has experience and his calm and cool attitude could ease Scott and loosen him up for him to play comfortable and confident poker. I believe that if Scott would stay loose and calm then it will allow him to follow his gut feelings and ultimately give him the edge that he needs. If on the other hand he went into the table tense and quite nervous then it could throw off his reads and possibly cost him the match. Also to hire Ivey as a coach I would suggest a price of 50000. Whats 50 grand out of 9.1 mil.
