#613 – Blog Ketchup
I just completed the kick-off event for a cancer charity in which Jo Anne and I are actively involved, Relay for Life. This has two consequences for all of you: (1) I would like you to sign up for my Relay For Life tournament on Full Tilt, on December 21 at 19:00 ET. The password is “relay”. A future blog will describe what the charity is about in detail. (2) Now that this is concluded, I can get back to the work of writing the blog, and I have a lot of catching up to do. I’ll start by covering some things right away:
* Bad Beat On Cancer tournament - Rafe Furst is running the next eidtion of the BBOC tournament this Saturday, November 22, at 14:05 ET. The tournament costs $10 with $5 going to BBOC. The password to enter this private tournament is “charity.” This is a great cause, it raises a lot of money, and it gives you the opportunity to play with a lot of Full Tilt pros.
* Skills 4 Kids - Skills 4 Kids is an organization that provides counseling and life sustaining resources for underprivileged children and their families. They are having a charity tournament on Full Tilt this Sunday, November 23, at 19:00 ET. This is also a $5 + $5 tournament with a lot of red pros already signed up. The password for this private tournament is “s4k.”
* Relay for Life - I am co-chair of Mission Delivery for the Scottsdale Relay For Life, a charity that raises money for the American Cancer Society. (Jo Anne is the Event Co-Chair.) The actual Relay takes place May 8-9 at Saguaro High School in Scottsdale. I would love to have you come by, walk in the Relay, donate money, etc. etc. etc. But of more immeduate importance, Full Tilt is allowing me to host a Relay For Life poker tournament. That tourn is on the schedule for Sunday, December 21, at 18:00 ET. It is a $5 + $5 tournament and I hope everybody reading this will join. I will be posting a blog in the next few days about Relay for Life so you can learn more about the cause. Password for this tournament “relay.”
* New Sunday Tournamet on Full Tilt - The $100K Double Deuce. Starting this Sunday at 16:35 ET Full Tilt is running this new tournament. As the name says, the entry fee is $20 + $2 and the prize pool is gauranteed to be at least $100K. Full Tilt is obviously anticipating a huge feild and it’s a great opportunity to compete for a first prize approaching $20,000 for just $22. In addition, Full Tilt is constantly running satalites for as little as as few cents or Full Tilt points to get entries to the tournament.
* Upcoming Pro Tips - Your next Full Tilt e-mail newsletter will have a tip from Jon “PearlJammed” Turner about how to play ace-king out of position. Next week the tip will be from Howard Lederer about playing the bubble in sit-n-goes.
* Coming Soon - Now that I have a little trime I will finish judging the essay contests, announce the results, and describe the most interesting entries. I will also be able to tell you about my first experience at a table with Phil Ivey, the end of my loosing streak, and what I learned about midnight rulemaking in Washington D.C.
