#652 – From the Full Tilt News Desk, Part I – One Hundred Kay
Last Sunday, January 25, at 16:37, Full tilt went over the 100,000-player mark for the first time in its history. To confirm this, I contacted Uncle Tilty. I fear I may have touched off a minor riot in the Full Tilt Palace. “If we are over 100,000 players, it’s the first time. And this is how I find out? From YOU?”
Consequently, I discovered before Uncle Tilty that the site crossed the threshold as the $100,000 Double Deuce tournament started. By the time registration closed, the tournament had the site’s maximum of 10,000 entries. (I know this only by checking later; I busted while players were still registering.)
I may have learned this information first, but the Full Tilt domos didn’t waste time making use of it. Starting next week – after the traffic-depleting Super Bowl – the tournament will become the “$200,000 Double Deuce”, the prize pool based on guaranteeing minimum of 10,000 players. (N.B. – when the tournament started running, Full Tilt’s software supporteda maximum of 8,000 players. That was subsequently increased to 10,000 and now 12,000.)
