It’s just after 4 AM here and I just finished playing the Midnight Madness. OK, I won it, but that’s not even why I’m rushing to post this before I fall asleep.

Remember last December when I offered to set a world record for the longest time playing poker for Full Tilt, as counterprogramming to PokerStars running the largest-ever online tournament? Full Tilt never met my conditions (or even got back to me) so it didn’t go anywhere.

Well folks, in winning the Midnight Madness on February 18, I set a world record:

THE BIGGEST COMEBACK IN TOURNAMENT POKER HISTORY

This was just an $11 tournament, and first prize was just $4,200 – I know guys are kicking themselves for making ONLY that much in some FTOPS events – but I am as serious as I can be about this. Nobody has ever staged a bigger comeback than me in this tournament.

There were 2,332 entries in the tourament, for a total of 3,498,000 chips in play. On the second hand – while hundreds of players were still signing up and only a handful had been eliminated – I reraised all-in preflop with pocket queens, was called by pocket kings, and was all but busted. Because of how the blinds fell, I had 30 chips more than my opponent – the size of the big blind. Because the late-entry period was still running, there were about 1,800 players in the tournament at that moment and I was in last place.

I rebounded from 30 chips after 1 minute to get all 3,498,000 chips five hours and forty-four minutes later. I’ve mentioned in this blog some big comebacks I’ve made in tournaments on Full Tilt but never anything like this. In fact, I don’t think ANYONE has EVER done anything like this.

Until me.

Until now.

Once I get some sleep, I’ll write an entry explaining how it happened. But for now, it is, as they say, HISTORY.

I once had one big blind too but it was on middle stages of the tournament. I came back and got into the money. Actually, I goto into the final table. But not first place like you did.

    Congratulations!
