#712 – NBC Heads-Up Championship #33 – Thanks to Everybody, Especially LeeAnn Tweeden

This has been a wonderful weekend at the NBC Heads-Up Championship. It’s my favorite event to cover and write about, and this year was no exception. Thanks to Mori and Eric and Pierre and the whole crew and even the guy who kept yelling at me not to get up during the round even though I had the worst seat in the house and remained motionless for sixteen hours. And in the spirit of cameraderie, let me give a special thank you to LeeAnn Tweeden.

It would be gratuitous to say I’m in love with LeeAnn Tweeden. I thought the hostess of the NBC Heads-Up Championship (and Poker After Dark) was pretty, sweet, and friendly before I got to know her today. Now I know from experience she has a sense of humor, is a great sport, and (thanks to a recent Google search) is acknowledged by magazine-buying-men everywhere as one of the most beautiful women in the world.

Yesterday, after feeling I didn’t have any way to figure out what was going on in the matches, I wrote a blog about her eating a baked potato. It was humorous, in good fun, and displayed my accurate opinion of how poised she was in this fishbowl-like environment. She read it last night and told me she enjoyed it so much she linked to it on her Facebook page. (She also told me it was a burrito, which is just as impressive, if not more impressive.)

Then she was nice enough to pose for pictures with me in my Bleacher Prison. Dennis Brown of RoundersRadio.com took the pictures and has graciously offered them to me for posting.

I picked up some neat goodies from this year’s Championship, and I didn’t even have to steal them. I got an autographed baseball from Orel Hershiser, a deck of 2009 NBC Heads-Up playing cards, and a picture of myself behind bars with LeeAnn Tweeden.

I will try to post pictures of all my swag, but that may have to wait until I get home on Monday night.
