#718 – The Second Relay for Life Tournament is Now on the Schedule!
Full Tilt was nice enough to let me run a second Relay for Life charity poker tournament to benefit the American Cancer Society. The tournament will take place on Full Tilt on Sunday, April 26, at 18:00 ET. The buy-in, like the first Relay tournament, will be $5 + $5, and Full Tilt is donating the entire $5 rake to my Relay team.
As readers of this Blog know, the cause of wiping out cancer is dear to my heart. My wife and my mom are both survivors of breast cancer and both are actively involved in the Scottsdale Relay for Life. All proceeds from the Relay go to the American Cancer Society. The ACS has been leading the efforts to cure cancer, treat cancer, detect cancer, and educate about cancer for 90 years. Everything that goes on concerning cancer is the ACS’s business, but I am especially impressed by its dedication to research.
Since the ACS began funding cancer research in 1945, it has paid out approximately 3 billion dollars for research. Amazingly, the first MILLION dollars led to the discovery of modern chemotherapy. ACS has remained on the cutting edge ever since, and has funded the research of 47 Nobel Laureates.
I appreciate your considering entering my tournament; you can find it on the Private Tournament lobby and the password to enter is “relay”. Especially because of all the support Full Tilt has given for this cause, it’s not really appropriate for me to nag you further for money.
