CHIP COUNTS

All counts are courtesy of the World Series of Poker. Transcription errors are mine and, though I’ll do my best to keep an updated list of who at the Series is affiliated with Full Tilt, apologies for misattribution. I will attempt immediately to correct any errors brought to my attention (mrchaotic@aol.com).

Notes: As indicated in the Full Tilt Money List, David Pham (24th), David Chiu (21st), Andy Black (19th), and Brian Townsend (13th) have already cashed … Ted Forrest is the short stack at the final table with 560,000 chips. I noticed Amanda “Mandy B” Baker and Paul Sexton still standing at the end of Day 1-A. I busted after the dinner break and Chris Ferguson (who, during an hour in which I sat at four different tables, was briefly seated to my left) busted during the last two levels of play.

OTHER NOTES:

Harrah’s is, with some justification, crowing about the records being set during the first few days of the Series, including biggest prize pool outside the Main Event, biggest field in an OEOB event, and biggest field outside the Main Event. Only the Omaha field size provides any real comparison with the past (and even then, how events are positioned on the calendar keeps them from being completely equivalent), but these are encouraging signs. Once the Series starts its regular daily schedule of a big-field event at noon and a higher-buy-in event at 5 PM will we be able to see more meaningful year-to-year comparisons.
