#779 – 2009 WSOP #37 – Daily Tilt #18 – Monday, June 15, AM Edition

Posted by Michael Craig

The PLOEOB proved lucrative for Full Tilt pros, with Roland De Wolfe winning his first World Series bracelet, Scott Clements finishing third, and Andy Black taking sixth. Among today’s events, Day 2 of the PLO should be particularly exciting for Tilt fans, as a number of big names are in position on Moving Day.

Notes: With several Full Tilt pros in the running, I think I can be excused for being optimistic about another Full Tilt bracelet coming from this one: (1) JJ keeps knocking at the door this year – this might be the time he kicks it down; (2) I picked Eli Elezra to win a bracelet back in event no. 2; (3) David Chiu also seems to be threatening no. 5, so maybe it’s his time; (4) Andy Bloch is due – just flat-out DUE; and (5) Ivey? Well, he’s 23rd in chips so he probably doesn’t have a chance, right? Anyone? Anyone? … I heard Howard Lederer mention in the Undisclosed Location last night that Ivey said he kicked his game up a notch this year. “He said he added the fold into his arsenal.” Howard also said Ivey is planning to turn it up further next year. “He said he’s going to introduce the check-call. He’s serious about this.” … Someone else told me that every bracelet Phil Ivey wins costs Daniel Negreanu $500,000.
Event #31 – $1,500 HORSE
End of Day 1
Starters: 770
Prize Pool: $1,051,050
Places Paid: 72
Remaining: 220
Chip leader: Sabic Sebastien 72,700

 3. Marco Traniello 55,000
 5. Andy Black 54,300
17. Fabrice Soulier 32,200
99. David Singer 15,100
122. Alan Boston 12,800
123. Greg Mascio 12,800
126. Keith Sexton 12,400
129. Thomas Bihl 11,900
132. Richard Brodie 11,800
182. Toto Leonidas 7,100
197. Peter Feldman 5,200

Notes: I played this event and busted out just before the last break. I lost half my chips the first two levels, then returned from the break to find my table now included late registrants Erick Lindgren, Annie Duke, and Jennifer Harman. I’ll write separately about the experience but I actually chipped up significantly at that table, only to lose it to a table of players I’d never seen before at another table.
