#788 – 2009 WSOP #46 – Daily Tilt #23 – Saturday, June 20, AM Edition

BETTER THAN IVEY!

The guy who won the $5,000 PLO yesterday declined to be interviewed or participate in the Bracelet Ceremony that has quickly become a World Series tradition. Even Phil Ivey, who is legitimately hounded by the international media and disdains all the public trappings of his success, provided that much cooperation. So he better watch out for this Mystery Man.

Because the dude won’t be showing up for his Bracelet Ceremony, Harrah’s actually has several options as an alternative to cancellation: (1) Since he won’t be there to hear his national anthem, they could play the anthem from Freedomia; (2) They could claim he comes from some country where the national anthem is “Barbie Girl” or “Baby Got Back”; (3) A streaker could run bare-assed across the room – I don’t know who but they could probably cull a long list from the players who display Visible Butt Crack on a regular basis; or (4) They could allow someone to accept the ceremony in his place, protesting on behalf of something or other. The PPA would be cool, but I don’t know if they’d consent to having someone go up there wearing a feathered head-dress.

Places Paid: 36
Winner: Some Dude $409,484

Full Tilt pros in the money:

10. Isaac Baron $32,300

Notes: The guy who won declined to be interviewed. It’s not someone you’d have ever heard of so I’ll respect his privacy by ignoring, as best I can, his accomplishment. Sorel Mizzi finished second and Cliff Josephy finished third. I bet they would have agreed to be interviewed.

CHIP COUNTS

All counts are courtesy of the World Series of Poker. Transcription errors are mine and, though I’ll do my best to keep an updated list of who at the Series is affiliated with Full Tilt, apologies for misattribution. I will attempt immediately to correct any errors brought to my attention (mrchaotic@aol.com).
