#804 – 2009 WSOP #62 – Daily Tilt #30 – Sunday, June 28, AM Edition

Posted by Michael Craig

Lee Watkinson came achingly close to winning to winning his second bracelet, finishing runner-up to Brandon Cantu in the $1,500 PLOEOB. Day is Moving Day in the $50k HORSE, and the Series’ first shot at a non-rebuy rebuy-type event. And it’s my last shot at a limit-poker bracelet for 2009.

COMPLETED EVENTS

Event #48 – $1,500 PLOEOB
Starters: 762
Prize Pool: $1,040,130
Places Paid: 72
Winner: Brandon Cantu $228,868

Full Tilt pros in the money:

 2. Lee Watkinson $141,873

Note: Lee was frequently one of the shorter stacks at the final table, but fought his way through traffic to gain chips as the day progressed, until he had, at one point, a big chip lead over Cantu heads-up. But PLOEOB is a gambling game, especially with the blinds so big, and the deck didn’t do Lee any favors at the end.
