#848 – FTOPS Crescendo
We are entering the last three wild days of FTOPS XIII. Steve Wong hosts the morning event, #20, $200 + $16 NLHE-6 handed. I am hosting the evening event, #21, $300 + $22 Razz. Then the series concludes with a flurry of five events this weekend. Here are some things to note:
1. Steve Wong is hosting Event #20. Steve is a nice guy, a talented poker player, and an interesting person. I got to know Steve during the 2009 WSOP and told his story in a recent blog that I encourage you to check out.
2. I am hosting Event #21 at 21:00 ET tonight (Friday). I’ll try to keep answering questions in the pro chat for as long as I’m in the tournament.
3. Tomorrow, at 14:00 ET, Patrik Antonius hosts Event #22, the Big One – $2,500 + $120 NLHE. This event will take place over two days, be 6-handed, and feature 30-minute levels. The prize pool is guaranteed to be at least $2 million.
4. An hour later, at 15:00 ET, Don Cheadle hosts the FTOPS Ante Up for Africa, $100 + $20 NLHE. All proceeds from tournament fees will go to the charity Don founded with Annie Duke to address the humanitarian crisis in Darfur. The prize pool will be at least $100,000 (which means probably $20,000 or more for charity). I played in the Ante Up event at the World Series, which ESPN broadcast last week. I didn’t show up during the broadcast but I had some interesting experiences and spent some time at the TV table. I hope you’ll play as well as check out those blogs.
5. At 16:00 ET Saturday, Lee Watkinson, another pro I got to know better at the World Series this year, hosts Event #23, the PLO-rebuy, $100 + $9.
6. In place of the Sunday Brawl, Erica Schoenberg will host the KO event, #24, $120 + $9 NLHE. With a $750,000 Guarantee, you can expect that the field will be GIGANTIC.
7. The FTOPS Main Event ($500 + $35 NLHE) will occupy its regular Sunday 18:00 ET slot, guaranteeing $2.5 million and hosted by Gus Hansen.

Ummm, I’m assuming you can probably read, but MC put a link up that said you can find out more about Steve Wong in one of his past blogs. What a stupid question!
