Shauna took this picture of Steven Begleiter’s crew after Steve won the best, boldest … baddest pot of the day:
Steven Begleiter just put a gun in Darvin Moon’s mouth and pulled the trigger. Or maybe Moon put the gun in his own mouth. But the hand was so remarkable they called a break after it – probably so somebody could change their pants. Darvin raised UTG to 1.3 million. Begleiter reraised to 3.9 million. Moon called. After a flop of 2-3-4 (two spades), Moon checked. Steven bet 5.35 million. Darvin raised him to 15 million. Begleiter moved all-in, which was just 6 million more. There’s almost 40 million in the pot and Moon folded for the last 6 million.
Because Kevin Schaffel busted in eighth to Eric Buchman with AA vs. KK – Buchman made quad kings – there are now seven players left and Buchman is the chip leader.
Ivey keeps waiting. For that matter, so does Shulman. I asked Mike Matusow what he thought of Phil’s play: “Phil is playing perfect.”
