Phil Ivey has been waiting, waiting, waiting …. It seems like he’s been waiting all day. While the other players are shoveling wheelbarrows full of chips around the table, he has remained a bystander. So, for that matter, has Jeff Shulman. For the second time today, they stared eye to eye and and Jeff blinked.
After Shulman raised to 1.5 million, Ivey moved all-in for 7 million more. Jeff Shulman took a long time deciding what to do. Of course, it would be folly to think that he believed Ivey would give something away. After what seemed like an eternity but was probably less than three minutes, Jeff folded.
Shauna took that image from one of the giant video monitors. Even in a monitor, even with just half his stare, even with a short stack, Phil Ivey can be terrifying.
